With each new version of The Doctor, you never know what you’re going to get until you actually get it - which is just how it is with Autumn and the other seasons of the year for all of us. Then another could be middle-aged and grumpier than the others who came before. One version can be old and crotchety, but another may be young and exuberant. Even though The Doctor retains his or her memories from before, there are often major changes in the personalities of the different versions of The Doctor. ![]() However, it’s not just The Doctor’s physical appearance that changes. When the body of each version of The Doctor dies, it then regenerates into a new body with an entirely different face than before. Unlike I did for Hawkeye Pierce and The Fonz, I’m not going to list every actor and actress who has played The Doctor on Doctor Who since the series premiered in 1963.Īs of this writing, there have been 13 of them - and a 14th will soon be premiering on the series. ![]() GIF from the official Doctor Who page on The dropout “hoodlum” from the early days of Happy Days definitely ended up having a pretty wonderful life. Toward the end of the series, he also became a foster father for a young boy and eventually adopted the child. Fonzie also became a co-owner of Arnold’s restaurant and worked as a teacher. He also had a successful career as an auto mechanic and eventually owned the garage he worked in. Fonzie attended night school and achieved his high school diploma. The character went through a lot of big changes over the years. By the start of the third season, a lot of the episodes centered around him. The Fonz may have started as a minor character in the series, but it didn’t take long for him to become very popular with TV audiences. If they got to know him, as me and millions of others have done over the years, they’d see that he had a big heart and would do anything for Richie, Richie’s family, and anyone else who needed help. That’s only because they didn’t know Fonzie very well! He was a motorcycle-riding high school dropout who had previously been a gang member and was considered by some to be a “hoodlum.” When it started, Fonzie was a friend of lead character Richie Cunningham and was just a secondary character in the series. Actor Henry Winkler portrayed Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, better known as both “The Fonz” and “Fonzie” for the entire run of the series. Happy Days ran for 11 seasons on ABC, from 1974–1984. Though Hawkeye always retained his great sense of humor, he suffered through a lot of very difficult and trying times during the war - especially near the very end of it, as seen in the series’ legendary finale, Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen. He also became a bit more “serious” as the series went on. However, he later realized he had a problem and he got it under control. For example, during the earlier seasons, Hawkeye drank very, very heavily. Though Hawkeye remained mostly the same throughout the run of the series, he did change quite a bit over the years. They (whoever they are) say that war changes people. While the series went through some major cast changes over the years, lead actor Alan Alda was there for the entire run as Captain Hawkeye Pierce.
